Dear Juan, knowing Erdogan, if anything, he is probably going to take a tougher line. This is going to be a real showdown.

This movie should be shown at every school and university in Israel. We need to defend ourselves, but the way the Palestinians are treated at the checkpoints bring us little security in the long run. Not to mention the damage it causes to their lives.
      Thank you for posting.

I also feel for them because as someone who is born in Iran I sometimes get stopped at airports and it always makes me feel angry. Imagine going through this experience every day!

Absolutely fascinating. I wonder how many Jewish artifacts were stolen and were missing. Thanks for sharing.
BTW, from my experience, there were many Iranians who were happy about Saddam Hussein being toppled, because of of his cruelty and the fact that he was an enemy of the people of Iran.

Ignoring peace with Palestinians will be an existential danger to the state of Israel, far bigger than Iran with a nuclear bomb.

But don't expect Netanyahu to do anything about it.

I agree. You look like a fish in water there. Almost radiating with joy.

Watching your very interesting presentation. Very informative. I recently wrote about how the new revolutions in the region could inevitably bring Israel and Iran together over events in Syria.

Dear Juan, watch Netanyahu destroy the new Arab peace initiative. According to an article in the weekend magazine "Sof Shavua" Sheldon Adelson told the US billionaire Abramson last year that Bibi would never sign a peace deal with the Palestinians. He will just delay and procrastinate. Why? because its written in the Koran that Jews who are non believers should be killed. So Palestinians can't be trusted.

  • How to Become an Expert in Iran's Nuclear Program (in less than four minutes) (Video)
    • meir javedanfar 04/30/2013 at 5:05 pm with 1 replies

Its a very succinct presentation of facts. Many congrats. Although if I am not mistaken, not just Israel, but also the US, Pakistan, India, France and the UK do not allow their nuclear arsenal to be inspected.

One more addition to why a nuclear Iran is opposed by others: it could trigger an arms race in the region + the fact that the regime has called for the annihilation of another country (Israel).

Iran has every right to nuclear energy, there is no doubt. There is a strong economic case for it. My disagreement is with regime policies, which are not subject to dispute, scrutiny or any kind of elections by the people of Iran. Regime officials have basically hijacked the nuclear prog for their own political goals, and I disagree with that, and their policies.

  • Are Chemical Weapons use in Syria really Obama's Red line? (Feaver)
    • meir javedanfar 04/28/2013 at 6:11 pm with 1 replies

This is a very sensitive issue for the US and for the rest of the Middle East. While it is understandable that the US does not wish to get into yet another conflict in this region, at the same time it must ensure that Assad stops any further (or new) use of Chemical weapons. Because if he did use Sarin and was not punished because of the small quantity, he may then see this as a loophole and use it on more occasions to his advantage.

There are also many reports that families of Iran regime officials indulge in much drinking and womanizing abroad. To these people, Islam is just an excuse. What they do has nothing to do with the religion.

  • Israeli Gen. Charges Syria Chem Weapons Use: Is Israel Allying with Sunnis to overthrow Alawites, cut off Iran?
    • meir javedanfar 04/24/2013 at 4:45 pm with 1 replies

I was on Israel's Channel 1 tonight in the same studio as Ron Ben Yishai, one of the most security correspondents from yediot ahronot. According to him, Israel believes that Assad has used chemical weapons, but Obama is not acknowledging it bcs its not the same scale as Halabja. This is worrying Israel because Obama is not abiding by his red line on Syria, this could mean that he won't abide by his red line on Iran.

I think Israel will be very careful who it sides with. You certainly get the feeling here that Israel and Iran both wouldn't mind if Syria is split up after Assad's fall. It would serve their security interests.

I wish our politicians were as innovative as our scientists. Far from it.
