( NIAC ) – For weeks, pundits, politicians, and activists have tried to portray Iranian Americans as supportive of war on Iran.
A new national poll shows that claim simply isn’t true.
Over the past week, NIAC partnered with Zogby Analytics to conduct a national poll of Iranian Americans during the first days of the conflict to ensure that the voices of our community are actually heard in this debate.
The clearest takeaway from the poll is this: Iranian Americans overwhelmingly support a diplomatic off-ramp to reduce tensions and end the war.
Despite deep concern and debate within the community about the conflict itself, a strong majority of Iranian Americans favor diplomacy rather than continued escalation.
At the same time, the poll reveals something else that is critical to understand: Iranian Americans are evenly divided on whether the United States should have initiated the war in the first place.
While this means that support for war among Iranian Americans was higher in the opening days of this conflict than it had been in past polling, the results make clear that there is no pro-war mandate among Iranian Americans, despite attempts to portray us that way.
And as we hear from shaken loved ones and see images of bombs destroying beloved landmarks and killing defenseless Iranian children, support in our community for this war will continue to fall. The poll also finds that a majority of Iranian Americans oppose the U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran in June 2025, sometimes referred to as the “12-Day War.”

We also need your help to ensure our community sees this data. You can help by sharing the poll results on social media, forwarding this email to your friends and family, and talking about these results within your community so that the loudest pro-war voices do not continue to dominate.
NIAC conducted this poll to ensure that the voices of Iranian Americans are heard — not distorted, not erased, and not replaced by those pushing for more war. Together, we will end this horrific conflict and forge a stronger community.
To everyone in our community navigating fear and uncertainty right now, especially those with loved ones in Iran, please know that we are with you.
In Solidarity,
