Prof. Cole - thank you for some encouraging stories about how renewable sources of energy can work for us. Unfortunately, there is a sizeable percentage of Americans who think solar and wind energy are all about dirty hippies and they think they are being cool and manly by burning huge amounts of fossil fuels. We have a serious stupidity problem in the U.S., not a lack of renewable energy technologies!
Paul Ryan is a world-class hypocrite and not a very smart man, to boot. I keep wishing an interviewer would ask him what the three main components of GDP are, so he could really show us his economics "chops". I would expect that Ryan would just stare blankly into the cameran. Of course, this scenario would require a media that was truly informed and engaged, instead of one that is simply a stenographer for the party line. Thank you, Prof. Cole, for compiling this list and helping the media do it's job!
Willard Romney is Thurston Howell III, from Gilligan's Island. A pompous, simple-minded buffoon who has had everything handed to him on a silver platter all of his life. He was born rich and got richer. Big whoop! Some achievement. Obama, while not my favorite president and far from being a true progressive, at least got where he is today by hard work, intelligence and tenacity. The fact that Romney is even close in the polls is a tribute to the stupidity and gullibility of the American public!
We can bomb their nuclear facilities but we cannot bomb their knowledge. Even if we could successfully destroy their nuclear capability, and that is highly questionable and likely very costly, we are only delaying the inevitable. We would be much better off building relationships of trust and mutual respect with Iran and other Muslim countries, stop Israel's uninspected proliferation of nuclear weapons and cut off Israel from all foreign aid until they learn to live in peace with their neighbors.
Great post, Prof. Cole. I think the Dem ticket in 2008 should have been Biden/Obama, instead of the other way around. Despite the occasional gaffe, Biden is much more sober, gutsy and less willing to lick the boots of those who hate you, than Obama. Maybe Obama could have grown and matured by 2016 to take over from Biden!
You get what you wish for. As Jake points out, since 1946, war has been the natural state of things for the U.S. It is the only form of government economic stimulus that Republicans believe in!
Hell is a little more full today. He was a despicable human being who did very little good in this world, as far as I can see. There really isn’t anything more to say.

That gal has some spunk! I like her! What an articulate, attractive spokesperson for the progressive cause.

I am afraid President Adams got this one quite wrong....
