  • What Causes Mideast Extremism? It's the Dictatorships, Stupid!
    • Maggie Richards 11/26/2017 at 11:48 am

If the USA doesn't wake up & watch what some of our own self-serving, supposedly elected officials are doing we could end up being in a position of dictatorship type control or worse.

The Iranian official who said, "Trump sees himself as the chief of a global village: “This comes as he is just the president of the U.S., and a hated one”.......... is 99% correct. Trump thinks he is king of the world. What really describes him is 'wannabe dictator'. ... AND that useless Republican controlled Congress is doing nothing to stop that vile excuse for a human being. I can't help but notice that deathly quiet from the Democratic side also.

  • Trump Swiftboats McCain the Way W. Swiftboated John Kerry

I suggest that you read this article. I suspect that it's the closest thing we will see in our lifetime about McCain. Like George Bush, he was a playboy, flyboy who gambled with planes & other people lives. There are many articles still available on the internet about McCain and this particular article shows how McCain's activity was glossed over & over looked because his father was an admiral with lots of connections. There are many articles & videos featuring people who were POWs alongside McCain. This article is mainly about the USS Forrestal tragedy & how it was handled.

King is such an arrogant jackass, it's impossible to say much of anything about him without using 'F' words or worse. I'll be glad to send him a copy of the 1st Amendment & a few choice comments.

  • Jesus and Muhammad and the Question of the State

Seventyfive sounds like the holier than thou fundamentalists who are loud and obnoxious in my neck of the woods. Bravo Mr. Cole for demanding that he prove it. We know that the Bible and the Qur'an were written based on memory and tales passed down thru generations. Then too, I have always wondered about where the 'visions' & a god talking to guy from a burning bush, etc., came from. After all the people doing the writing were from a part of the world which is famous for Poppies & other hallucinogenics. Perhaps once they learned that people would throw money at them they just kept on expanding their sermons, rules or whatever with the help of those hallucinogenics.

With that said I suspect that if Jesus and Muhammad were around today they would be just a couple more 'television preachers'.

@marco raimondi - You try to present yourself as an all wise, all knowing person yet you don't seem to know (or choose not to know) much about the dirty tricks used by Republicans with the filibuster BS. The thing that irritated me to no end is the fact that Democrats didn't stand up and invite them to do an actual filibuster instead of just threats. I would have loved to have watched if the Democrats had done that, then passed a simple rule that in order to filibuster 75% of the filibustering party must be present at all times. Darn I wish I was young enough & healthy enough to run for Congress!

I hate the changes to FB. I went to the site one morning & discovered that I had a large family....never mind that I didn't know a single person on the list other than chatting with them at FB. One day I was receiving hundreds of posts from FB in my mailbox and the next day nothing. Now my notifications 'box' on FB always has a 100 or more notices about posts several times a day. I honestly have not had the time to play with these changes to see if I can get it back to the way I had it before FB fffffed it up. As for following me, if FB is that bored, have at it. I do understand your frustration with that feature though. I see no reason for them to spy on me or anyone else. Buttheads!

"..... al-Maliki’s maverick political line is surely an embarrassment to Washington." It just seems to be one more way to tell the U.S. to get out. That would save us billions over the coming months.

The U.S. should leave and turn the military bases over to the people we have made homeless. That includes that gawd awful embassy. It would provide a home for a few thousand
people at the very least with room for a market, assorted stores, etc.

"When the sea level rises" is a good question but..............Isn't a great deal of the foundation for this 'city' man made. What if it starts to sink?
Saadiyat Island is one ugly looking mess. Just my two cents.

You say, "...Jones is deploying the tactics of terrorism without actually harming anyone, a sort of psy-ops terrorism." Almost the same thought I had earlier after I had become seriously sick of hearing this idiot story. I consider this an act of treason against this country. I like your idea better but in either case he should be arrested and prosecuted accordingly.
