I see that our (US) hands are at least as bloody as Assad's since we were one of the primary sources of funding for the opposition in Syria. And we are plainly in no position to accuse someone else of brutality with our hands dirty from our illegal drone murders and our monstrous crimes in Vietnam/Laos/Cambodia.
I think the primary war criminals in the Syrian tragedy are the entities who started funding and instigating groups and individuals within Syria in order to destabilize the legal and legitimate government in order to take Syria out as a link between Iran and Hezbollah.
It is clear that the US is responding to Israeli/zionist pressure to prioritize taking out Assad in order to hamstring Hezbollah. Syria is being sacrificed to the all consuming zionist dream of keeping Golan Heights and acquiring southern Lebanon.
We are being manipulated.Big time. Right up through the congress and the president. Some will call this a conspiracy theory. Is it really just a theory or is it something real? I think it is obvious. I can't support Hillary unless I learn some things or see big changes.
I agree with Juan on this one. Organized and well funded local and national (D.C.) lobbying and grass roots organizing will get the most bang the quickest.
Jack, It is no "conspiracy theory" to point out that airplane crashes did not cause bldg 7 to collapse on 9/11. No independent investigation has been allowed of this curious fact?
matt, I have known several Iranians over the years and I think it is BS that "Iran is hostile to the US". Understandably Iran does not like the US interfearing in their affairs and supporting coups etc and they don't like the way we support Israel in stealing Palestine and destabilizing the Middle East just to keep Israel safe from massed arab support of the Palestinians. They are "hostile" to our actions but not to the US in general. We have no business in that part of the world. How would we react to Russia or China provoking trouble or a coup in Mexico?
Sounds right to me! I've been saying for years that when the US talks about a Democratic government or a "friendly" government they mean one that they can buy. Like the one here in the US, bought and paid for until the next installment is due.
I have to go with Dale Lanan above. Are we paying attention to what is happening with climate? I don't think so. Do you know and understand what Dale says in his short piece? Who is that guy who fiddled while Rome burned? We are all fiddling while the planet burns.
Were monies received from other entities? Were these funds properly put into the US treasury? How were they accounted for? What happened to these funds? How about the $150 million paid to the British? Was that money properly dealt with? Where is the paper trail on these transactions.
Dear Juan, I suggest that you read M K Bhadrakumar's article in Asia Times http://www.atimes.com/atimes/South_Asia/SOU-03-110313.html. on this subject. I think his understanding of the issues is closer to reality than yours. The US military and "intelligence community" do NOT want an end to US involvement ($$$) in Afghanistan, what would they do without a war? Their budget's might get cut!?
And you won't say this has anything to do with the Israel Lobby?
Except that they have kept the budgets up!

The US has NO moral authority to complain about anybody killing civilians after what we did in Vietnam.

I think Jack is probably right.

Israel is out of line completely! AIPAC and all other right wing Israeli lobbyists must register as foreign government agents.
I don't always agree Juan but I do appreciate your hard work and the integrity and caring that you have.

Very impressive and comprehensive article. Thanks again Juan for making this possible.
